The expression "Special Educational Needs" (BES) it came into use in Italy as a result of the issue of the Ministerial Directive of 27 December 2012"Tools intervention for pupils with Special Educational Needs and organization territorial for school inclusion“. The Directive defines how follows the meaning: "The area of academic disadvantage is much broader than that referable explicitly to the presence of a deficit. THE ANNUAL PLAN FOR INCLUSIVITY
The Annual Plan for Inclusiveness (P.A.I.), provided for by the Directive of 27 December 2012 and by C.M. n. 8/2013, intends to provide an element of reflection in the preparation of the POF, of which the P.A.I. is part integral. It is an internal act of the autonomous school, finalized to the planning and development of a responsible and active process of growth and participation.
The P.A.I. it is the tool for planning one's own training offer in an inclusive sense, it is the background and foundation upon which to develop one teaching attentive to the needs of each one in achieving common goals. The P.A.I. sets out the guidelines for a concrete programmatic commitment to inclusion, starting from a careful reading of the degree of inclusiveness of the school and improvement goals, objectives to be pursued in the sense of transversality of practices in curricular teaching areas, from the class management, of the organization of school times and spaces, relations between teachers, pupils and families.
This document starts from the needs and specificities of students with special educational needs (BES) and defines the principles, the criteria, the strategies useful for their inclusion in the school context. Clarifies the tasks and roles of the figures operating within the Institute and identifies the actions and teaching methodologies for facilitating learning and achieving educational success; intends to reduce the barriers that limit learning and social participation.
