Invalsi
The Invalsi tests are developed by the National Institute for the evaluation of the education and training system (INVALSI), a research body governed by public law, placed under the control of the Ministry of Education, of the University and Research (MIUR) and are mandatory (ex D.L. 5/2012 then converted to L. 35/2012).
L’target of the Invalsi tests is to realize, every year, a statistical reference framework to measure the degree of learning of Italian students, through evaluations as objective as possible that allow both a comparison with other schools and other European and community training agencies, and a survey of the weaknesses and shortcomings of the Italian training system, on which, then, the Miur will be able to intervene through specific interventions.
Invalsi tests 2021
The carrying out of the INVALSI tests 2020/21 in Primary School it will be organized according to the following calendar:
– 5 May 2021: English test (In the primary)
– 6 May 2021: test of Italian (II and V primary) and preliminary reading test (only for sample classes II primary)
– 12 May 2021: Mathematics test (II and V primary)
Over a period of days indicated by INVALSI, (from 7 April to 30 April 2021) tests of Italian, Mathematics and English (classes III of lower secondary school).
We inform the teachers and parents of the third classes that the carrying out of the Invalsi tests 2021, of Italiano, Maths e English, for the First grade secondary school it will take place over a period of days, indicated by INVALSI, between 7 April 2021 and the 21 May 2021.
The classes will be divided into two groups, in order to guarantee safety and distancing measures.
Considering the health emergency, participation in the tests this year is not a prerequisite for admission to the final state exam of the first cycle of education, but it is strongly recommended.
The levels achieved by each pupil in the Italian and mathematics tests, will be attached, by Invalsi, to the certification of skills, together with the certification of the ability to understand and use the English language.
Subjects of the Invalsi tests for elementary and middle school
The Evidence
Invalsi are held in the last months of the year and involve disciplines
fundamental or Italian, math and english, providing for answer tests
closed (multiple) and open-ended questions. From the year 2017/2018 about
the matters covered by the Invalsi Tests, there is also the test of English,
divided into two sections, one aimed at written comprehension (reading) is
the other to oral comprehension (I listen).
The national indications of the Invalsi Institute have in fact already indicated by
a few years the A2 level of the CEFR (Common European Framework) as a goal
final of the first cycle of education.
However, the objective of this third test is, like the other two, that of
obtain extensive monitoring of the national training system, rather than
return a mere certification of language skills, for this the
Invalsi test of English will be structured on two levels so that you can
return an outcome even to those students who fail to reach the
level A2 and attest, then, at level A1.
In school primary the tests will be articulated in the following way:
- the first classes concerned are the V classes of primary school (elementary schools) just for the test of English;
- classes II and V of the Primary School (elementary schools) first with the Italian test and the preliminary reading test e, then, with the Mathematics test.
How long
concerns the third classes of the lower secondary school (school
average), dove, like last year, will no longer be held during the examination of
end of the cycle, but during the month of April. The Invalsi tests, from the 2018,
they will constitute one for the pupils of the III classes of the lower middle school
of the requirements for admission to the state exam. The result achieved by
each student in the tests will be expressed in descriptive terms and inserted in
a specific section of the final certification of competences.
Students in grades III of lower middle school will also have to
take a third Invalsi English test. For students of classes III
junior high school (as well as for the students of classes II of the
upper secondary school) the tests will be on the computer and online: we talk,
then, of Invalsi CBT tests (Computer Based Tests). It's about a
choice that, it will probably greatly simplify the conduct of tests
to the students but what, at the same time, represents an ambitious challenge for the
Italian school system where, even if the supplied computer can be
considered quite good throughout the country, still remains the
problem of connectivity not always sufficient to carry out activities
online teaching. Precisely for this reason the dates of the Invalsi tests have
a very long period of time, just to allow everyone to support
the task in the school facilities.
The evidence of English
and those of Italiano e Maths they will not therefore take place in
same day and same time e, for this, they cannot be the same
for all but they will be different from student to student. The only exception will be
the primary classes, since in this case you will have a fit test
paper.
In general the tests will however remain standardized tests and not
customized, since the questions will be extracted from a repertoire of
quite similar questions, both from the point of view of the structure and from the point of view
of view of the difficulty level;
Students will have 90 minutes to solve all the questions and answer them
to the questions that have been submitted to him.
